I'd be happy to run or play the following. All have in common that they can be run episodically, with different GMs for different episodes.

    1. Bookhounds of London. You are antiquarian booksellers, down on your luck in 30s London; you end up investigating the mythos by accident. It's very hard to make money, and your credit gets eaten away along with your sanity.

    2. GUMSHOE Space. I've just had 70% of the first draft, and it looks great. One thing I asked for was a development of an idea I had many years ago with Dave Thomas, which was that every player got to make a significant choice during space combat, and the "captain" would have some responsibilty but not by any means complete control. This appears to have been implemented, but it's quite convoluted and needs testing.

You are a crew of "lasers" accepting and fulfilling contracts for a central authority, basically police for hire with the credits you have to maintain the ship and your equipment, and pay yourselves. You can pick a ship design or design one yourself. You can gain or lose rep depending on your actions, though you can mitgate this with PR, and your rep determines what contracts you get offered. Everyone has a ground side and a warpside role which can be very different. There are six species to chose from, each with their own schtick and tons of new drives.

    3. Station Duty. This is a "monster of the week" Esoterrorists setting where you a small group of agents set up and work for a cover organisaion in a fixed location where the membrane is week. You need to be constantly vigilant, working on the the veil-out and dealing with Esoterror outbreaks. There is usually an overarching plot as well as the episodic villains.

Edit: Note this does not exclude playing any other GUMSHOE stuff.

They all sound very interesting Simon, I'd be happy to play all of them. If I were to rank them in order, I'd go with...
    1st: Bookhounds of London.
    2nd: Station Duty.
    3rd: GUMSHOE Space.

1st: very keen for GUMSHOE Space. will it be compatible with MCB?
    2nd: Station Duty
3rd: Bookhounds. Very little interest in this, but I could be tempted if the London background was brought out strongly, which should be possible. Basically a virtual tour of 30's secret London, in the guise of a game.

Not sure what you mean by this. In the sense that they are both GUMSHOE, yes, but not really in any other way. It's got a bit of a Traveller vibe to it, but with some Firefly and Trek in it too. It's not got the command structure or goody-two-shoes nature of Trek, though it has the mixed human/alien thing and everyone having a role, and the post-collapse and hustling of Firefly.

The Bookhounds of London is quite player driven - you'll get a load of contacts, clues and info which you can use to lead the game. Paula is writing a ton of stuff on Occult London, which Steve is Mythos'ing up.

Sounds a bit more like Babylon 5 and Mass Effect. How about making the setting more like Lexx?

I like them all but #2 sounds interesting.
